Each year, the American Advertising Awards (Addys) offer a moment for the creative community to pause and reflect on the work that shaped the past year. For agencies and brands alike, it’s an opportunity to celebrate ideas, craftsmanship, and the collaboration that brings campaigns to life.
At Schaefer, we view the Addys as more than an awards ceremony. They serve as a natural bookend to the creative year — a chance to step back and recognize not just the work we produced, but the people, partnerships, and persistence that made it possible.
Enter the Spotlight
Last year, our team had the opportunity to help shape the creative direction for the Fort Worth Ad Club’s 2025 event. Working alongside the Ad Club board, Schaefer developed the core campaign concept “Enter the Spotlight.”
The idea was simple but powerful: great ideas deserve to be seen.
Too often, creative work lives quietly in the background — on screens, in print, or across digital platforms — doing its job without much recognition for the craft behind it. The Addys provide a moment where that work moves from behind the scenes to center stage.
“Enter the Spotlight” was designed to capture that shift. Visually and conceptually, the campaign focused on elevating the work itself — celebrating the ideas, the execution, and the creative teams behind them.
The Fort Worth Ad Club fully embraced the concept and carried it throughout the event, from the promotional campaign to the show experience itself. On the night of the ceremony, that focus was evident in every detail — large screens, strong production, and a clear emphasis on showcasing the work.
A Year of Work
Ahead of the awards, we gathered as a team for a quick tradition that has become part of Schaefer’s rhythm: a short internal recap of the year’s work.
It’s a simple moment, but an important one.
Before awards are handed out, we take a few minutes to look back at the campaigns, projects, and everyday efforts that defined the year. Not just what we made, but the culture and collaboration that made the work possible.
Ultimately, the meaning of the work comes from the people behind it — the ideas shared, the challenges solved, and the trust built with clients along the way.
The Night
This year’s ceremony was one of the strongest in recent memory. Hosted at Trilogy Studios, the venue was packed with agencies, production companies, designers, writers, and marketers from across the region.
Video work dominated many of the categories, reflecting how rapidly motion and storytelling continue to grow across the industry. The evening also highlighted a wide range of work from agencies throughout North Texas, with Balcom earning Best of Show for their Better with Dairy campaign.
Most importantly, the event delivered on its purpose: putting great ideas in front of the community and celebrating the creative craft behind them.

The Bigger Picture
Awards are never the goal. For Schaefer, goal is always the same: solve real problems for our clients through thoughtful strategy and strong creative.
But moments like the Addys are valuable because they allow the community to step back and recognize the craft behind the work — the ideas, the collaboration, and the persistence required to bring them to life.
